Member, Thesis Screening Panel, School of Population and Public Health, 2016 - Present

Description: Involves reviewing MSc and PhD thesis proposals (written proposal and oral presentation). assessing proposals based on significance, scope, quality, and feasibility, and providing students with feedback accordingly.

Member, MSc Admissions Committee, School of Population and Public Health, 2019 - present.

Teaching in a Blended Learning Environment (CTLT UBC, May - june 2019)

T-BLE is a 4-week immersive blended course covered the key theories, tools, and techniques for effective blended learning. It offers an opportunity to redesign a module from a current course, and a chance to collaborate with other instructors and gain authentic experience with the blended learning environment.

 

Virtual 101: Fostering Connection and Building Space Online (CTLT UBC, May 2020)

This workshop is focused on exploring facilitation tools, tips, and techniques to use in virtual events, workshops, and programming. This workshop will support the creation of an equitable and engaging space to build relationships and connect with your community in a virtual space.

Facilitating Effective Asynchronous Online Discussions in Canvas (CTLT UBC, May 2020)

The goals of this workshop are to identify different approaches for effective asynchronous online discussions, to become aware of different types of asynchronous discussion activities and their purpose, and to consider discussion activities that may be most suitable for teaching in Canvas.  

 

Participatory Publishing - Zines and Open Pedagogy (CTLT UBC, May 2020)

Zines are a self-published medium that are often created by collaging existing materials with self-created content. This workshop is focused on the use of zines as a form of open pedagogy and ways to engage student in open education culture.

Teaching with Collaborate Ultra (CTLT, UBC May 2020)

Collaborate Ultra is a web-conferencing application for moderating classes, meetings, or other group collaborations virtually. The goal of this workshop is to learn about how to set up Collaborate Ultra and use it for virtual teaching.

 

Exploring Zoom (CTLT UBC, May 2020)

Zoom is a web-conferencing application for moderating classes, meetings, or other group collaborations virtually. The goal of this session is to learn more about Zoom and best practices for using it for teaching virtual classes.
