Transdisciplinary One Health Teaching, Research and Practice

I am a veterinary pathologist and epidemiologist whose work is focused on health issues at the intersection of humans, animals, and the environment. I strive to integrate knowledge from a broad range of disciplines in order to develop innovative, practical, and effective solutions for current and future health issues.

This website provides an overview of three core components of my professional career: teaching, research, and practice. The teaching component consists of a detailed teaching portfolio, the research component highlights my current programs of research, and the practice component links to the organizations with which I am affiliated.

Teaching

My goal in teaching is always to meet students “where they are at” and to create an environment where we can inquire together toward a deeper, more complex understanding of the challenges we all face.

My research is focused on the surveillance, management, and mitigation of disease risks involving wildlife, particularly zoonotic, transboundary, and emerging infectious diseases.
